Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $500,000)

The purpose of this award, one of several projects under the Services for Trafficking Victims Discretionary Grant Program, is to allow The City of Indianapolis/Indianapolis Police Department to develop victim service programs for persons who have been identified by federal law enforcement as victims of a severe form of trafficking during the pre-certification period. The Indianapolis Police Department will contract with The Julian Center to provide comprehensive services to trafficking victims in the city of Indianapolis and throughout Marion County, Indiana; build effective community service networks to respond to victims' needs; and provide training to increase awareness among criminal justice entities, social service providers, and the public of the rights and needs of trafficking victims over a 36-month period.
