The purpose of this award, one of several projects funded under the Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program, is to allow Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. to provide or dispatch legal services for victims of human trafficking as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, as amended. Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. will ensure the provision of direct legal services for foreign national and U.S. citizen victims of trafficking identified or living in the 68 counties of the southwestern third of Texas. The grantee will also provide legal services to victims of labor trafficking in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana and and will provide training and technical support to build capacity for legal service providers in the targeted regions over a two year project period. ca/ncf
