The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Haven Women’s Center of Stanislaus (Haven) is located in the heart of the Central Valley, sitting adjacent to two main highways: California Highway 99, and Interstate 5 — both of which serve as major transport routes for traffickers. Under this project, Haven will procure two long-term rental units (Master Lease units) that will support clients as they transition into permanent housing. Haven will also provide short-term assistance to clients are required minimal assistance in order to transition into permanent housing. Haven expects to provide housing assistance and/or supportive services to an estimated 25 clients over the course of three years. A variety of supportive services will be available to participating clients. All services will be voluntary and accessible at the client’s desecration. Services will include but are not limited to: peer counseling, crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and accompaniment. Peer counseling coupled with crisis intervention will give the client a chance to work through their trauma and begin the process of healing in a supportive and trauma informed environment. Case management, advocacy and accompaniment will support the clients as they transitioning into permanent housing. CA/NCF
