Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $499,353)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Florida Center for Children and Youth, working though Open Doors Outreach Network (ODON) Regional Advocates in the field, will provide the necessary funding, coordination and support for adult victims to obtain stable housing and provide comprehensive wraparound services in the areas information and referral, personal advocacy and accompaniment, emotional support, safety services, criminal and civil justice system assistance, employment counseling and training and additional supportive services for victim’s dependents. The geographic areas to be served under this project include 32 Florida counties (Leon, Bay, Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, Brevard, Orange, Voices for Florida OVC-2020-17755 Abstract 2 Osceola, Polk, Lake, Sumter, Flagler, Volusia, Putnam, Nassau, Duval, St. Johns, Baker, Clay, Manatee, Pinellas, Sarasota, Pasco, Hernando, Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hillsborough). The program will serve an estimated 30 primary victims and their dependents with transitional housing. Comprehensive services tailored to the needs of the victims will be provided by ODON team members. CA/NCF
