Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $500,000)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of housing assistance and support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of transitioning into housing or maintaining safer housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Accelerator YMCA, the social services arm of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, will implement a comprehensive housing and service package for youth and young adult victims of sexual exploitation. Over the three-year grant period, Accelerator YMCA will serve at least 30 youth and young adults in King County, and surrounding areas if needed. This “CSEC Youth Project” will build off-ramps from exploitation for youth ages 12-25 through outreach and housing, while also providing the employment support and clinical behavioral health services necessary to address a young person’s mental health needs and long-term success. The project will provide a Rapid Rehousing approach as well as expand the availability of housing navigation services, facility-based transitional housing, and Host Homes, as applicable.
