New Grants and Payment Management Systems Now Available!

The Justice Grants System (JustGrants) and the Department of the Treasury’s Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) are now available for all award management and payment activities. Award recipients with the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) can login to JustGrants or visit the informational website for further resources and support. OVC FY 15 Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program (AEAP) for Crime Victim Compensation and Assistance

The Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program (AEAP) is a mechanism by which the Director of OVC may award supplemental crime victim compensation and assistance to respond to an act of terrorism or mass criminal violence. The criminal act has to be of sufficient magnitude that it overwhelms the affected jurisdiction’s or program’s ability to respond to the event. This is a restricted solicitation because the program is intended to respond to specific cases of terrorism and mass violence. Only after OVC has consulted with an eligible organization can an application be submitted.

The Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Examination Telemedicine Center Pilot Project is a 3 year demonstration project that has created a National TeleNursing Center. It includes funding for four pilot sites (rural, tribal, military, and correctional) that will use the services of the National TeleNursing Center, necessary technology, staffing for the center itself, and a process evaluation. This FY15 continuation award will provide funding to continue and expand the Center’s operations.

The strategy to Enhance Law Enforcement Response to Victims (ELERV) was released in 2009 to provide tools and information to assist law enforcement around the nation to better respond to crime victims’ needs. The ELERV Technical Assistance Project will formally evaluate the ELERV Strategy released in 2009 so that it can be promoted as an evidence-based practice.

OVC will make several awards of up to $60,000 each to state VOCA compensation programs to build new systems, or modify existing systems, for collecting electronic data; increase the accuracy of their administrative reporting; and satisfy the new OVC reporting requirements. OVC FY 15 Vision 21 Victim Assistance Professional Development Fellowship Program: Translation and Dissemination of Statistical Data

OVC estimates that it will make one award of up to $500,000 for a joint fellowship program with BJS focused on the translation and dissemination of statistical data used by the victim service field. The individual awarded funding under this fellowship program will work with both OVC and BJS to improve the synthesis and translation of social science research and statistical findings to inform practice and policies in the victim services field.

OVC will make several awards of up to $1,000,000 each to improve responses to male survivors of violence, particularly boys and young men of color, and their families, and to dedicate technical assistance to support these efforts.
