Acquanette Lindsay is a Victim Witness Specialist with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Ohio, where she ensures that witnesses are physically and emotionally available to testify. Ms. Lindsay’s passion stems from the trauma that her and her siblings experienced as children and has been redirected into helping other crime victims understand what happened to them as they navigate the legal system.

Chief Deputy Guard, Pitt County (North Carolina) Sheriff’s Office, has specialized in investigating domestic violence cases for almost two and a half decades. Legislators and victim advocates have consulted Chief Guard on the creation of state legislation for domestic violence response. Chief Guard has developed and implemented several innovative programs designed to increase victim safety and offender accountability.

Jennifer Elmore | 2021 National Crime Victims' Service Awards Tribute Video

Jennifer Elmore is a survivor, who sought justice and healing by standing up to her father, a U.S. Army two-star Major General after a childhood of sexual abuse. Ms. Elmore helped to form Survivors United, an organization of military crime victim survivors advocating for changes in the way the military investigates and prosecutes sexual assault. She has testified before the Defense Advisory Committee appointed by Congress to assess the military’s response to the epidemic of sexual assault within its ranks and addressed multiple victim rights conferences.

Robin Taylor | 2021 National Crime Victims' Service Awards Tribute Video

Robin Taylor, Deputy Sheriff, Geauga County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office, Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Unit, began her career as a uniformed first responder, before accepting a position as the Violence Against Women Act Deputy in 2010, where she now specializes in the investigation of violent crimes perpetrated against women. Deputy Taylor is Co-Chair of the Geauga County Sexual Assault Response Team, and a subject matter expert for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council’s domestic violence curriculum.

Jeannette M. Adkins, Retired Director/Administrator, Michael’s House Child, Advocacy Center, Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, is a pioneer, leader, and visionary in the victim services field. For over 38 years, she has advocated for victims of crime at the local, state, and national level. Ms. Adkins co-founded the Ohio Crisis Response Team in 1996.

JoNell Efantis Potter, Ph.D., FAAN, APRN, Professor, University of Miami (Florida) Miller School of Medicine, is a trailblazer in the creation of a medical and mental health model of care for survivors of human trafficking. One of her proudest accomplishments is founding the THRIVE (Trafficking Healthcare Resources and Intra-disciplinary Victim Services and Education) Clinic, one of the first such clinics in the Nation devoted solely to the medical and mental health care of survivors of all forms of human trafficking.

OVC Tribal Financial Management Center: Supporting American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, is among the Nation’s most distinguished legal defenders of victims’ rights, with a long history of bipartisan support throughout his vast career. Professor Cassell was instrumental in the passage of Utah’s Victims’ Rights Amendment in November 1994 and recently he has been heavily involved in efforts to pass Marsy’s Laws protecting victims’ rights in state constitutions.
