Samaritan House will expand its transition-in-place housing program for victims of human trafficking from its original service area to include the cities of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Franklin and the counties of Southampton, Accomack, Northampton, and the southern parts of Isle of Wight. The program will support30 victims (10 per year for three years) in 30 scattered site units through landlord/tenant relationships and provide funding for housing assistance, basic needs, therapeutic services, limited legal services, vocational training, and trauma-informed case management.

Samaritan House has formed multiple community partnerships with agencies that work within the empowerment model and are trauma-informed and/or provide specialized services for trafficked persons. As the victim service provider of the Taskforce, Samaritan House will coordinate its activities and referrals with the Hampton Roads Human Trafficking Taskforce and work in partnership with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General, Homeland Security Investigations, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. Samaritan House will also coordinate activities and referrals with local victim service providers including Transitions Family Violence Services, Avalon Center, Eastern Shore Coalition. Against Domestic Violence, Help and Emergency Response, YWCA of South Hampton Roads, and Genieve Shelter.
