Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $800,000)

The Formation Project (TFP) is a survivor-led non-profit in Charleston, South Carolina that provides housing services, peer support, and case management to survivors of human trafficking. This grant will provide safe, stable housing and appropriate trauma-informed, victim-centered services to victims of trafficking, in collaboration with local resources, in order to increase autonomy, self-sufficiency, safety and well-being for survivors. This includes providing survivors with emergency and transitional housing options, rental assistance, support for locating/obtaining housing from a Housing Navigator, and developing and incorporating policies/training in support of collaborative approaches that are victim-centered, trauma informed, and reduce barriers to survivors accessing housing.
