The Southwest Women’s Law Center proposes to implement the American Indian/Alaska Native Women Survivors of Domestic Violence Support Program. The purpose is to provide legal representation so Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence (DV/IPV) survivors have access to legal help in Tribal courts and state courts for limited cases. Project activities include providing an attorney to represent DV/IPV tribal clients in Tribal courts and state courts when required. Expected outcomes include the development of a legal support program for American Indian/Alaskan Native women survivors of domestic violence who reside in one of the 19 Pueblos in NM.
