Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $350,935)

Under the FY 2018 Integrated Services for Minor Victims of Trafficking program, all grantees are required to serve all minor victims (boys and girls under age 18) of all forms of human trafficking (sex and labor). The grantee will work with OVC Program Managers and Training and Technical Assistance Providers to ensure all victims are served. Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center (ChicagoCAC) will provide a case manager, wraparound services, and serve as a referral hub for minor victims of human trafficking in the City of Chicago. It will also will serve as the statewide coordination hub for all reports of minor human trafficking made to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). ChicagoCAC will receive all DCFS reports for allegations of Human Trafficking in the State of Illinois and will accept cases from the Chicago Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It will also screen clients referred to ChicagoCAC for other types of child maltreatment allegations for indicators of trafficking and exploitation. ChicagoCAC will coordinate the multidisciplinary team responsible for investigating allegations of minor human trafficking and exploitation. To maximize the scope of the program, ChicagoCAC will facilitate outreach and training to professionals and organizations on how to identify and respond to suspicions of minor human trafficking.
