Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $498,764)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Hookers for Jesus, (HFJ) will implement an 18 month transitional housing assistance program, in combination with evidence-based, wrap-around, support services, for 6–to 8 women survivors of sex trafficking annually, in Las Vegas/Clark County, located in Southern Nevada. Project funds will be used to lease a 1,493 square foot, three bedroom, two-bath house with shared kitchen, dining, and living spaces. Clients will live in the house for 12 to 18 months, while looking for permanent housing. Clients will pay reasonable rent to HFJ allowing our survivors to build up rental history before obtaining permanent housing. Services will include weekly case management meetings, continued employment and career development services along with advocacy, educational classes, and minimal financial assistance. CA/NCF
