Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $499,998)

The goal of the FY 2020 Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking Program is to support housing assistance for victims of all forms of human trafficking throughout the United States, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this solicitation supports programs that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing with support services to victims of human trafficking who are in need of housing as a result of human trafficking. Funding will be provided over a three-year project period. Face to Face has been serving the homeless youth population in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area since 1994. Face to Face’s current transitional housing program for youth experiencing homelessness provides 16 youth at a time with rental subsidies and intense case management services for up to two years. Under this project, Face to Face will expand this program by eight units, focused specifically on victims of trafficking. It is a scattered site model, built upon relationships with local youth-friendly landlords. Staff will provide intensive in-home case management services catered to the needs of each individual young person. We will work with youth to develop and pursue goals around housing, health and wellness, and career. Face to Face case managers will connect youth to the resources necessary to stabilize their lives and pursue their goals. Staff also provide onsite, low barrier mental health and medical services. Face to Face also partners with St. Paul Public Schools to provide GED tutoring, college prep, and certificate opportunities. CA/NCF
