Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $750,000)

The goal of the FY 2020 Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Programs is to enhance the quality and quantity of services available to victims of human trafficking, as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000, as amended. Funding through this program supports direct services to victims of sex trafficking and labor trafficking, as well as for efforts to increase the capacity of communities to respond to human trafficking through the development of interagency partnerships, professional training, and public awareness activities over a three-year project period. This award made to Karidat is funded under HT Services solicitation.

Karidat will strengthen and enhance their victim-centered, trauma-informed services for human trafficking, through the provision of holistic individualized services to meet the needs of victims referred to our care. The OVC FY 2020 Competitive Grant Solicitation, Services for Victims of Human Trafficking funding will be utilized for: 1) the provision of trauma informed services to meet the individualized needs of victims of human trafficking; 2) collaboration with local partners and the community to ensure trafficking victims are identified and referred for appropriate services; 3) assistance or referrals to other essential services for victims of human trafficking not provided through Karidat; and, 4) data collection and evaluation by program staff to ensure program is meeting their stated goals, objectives, and performance measures.
