Abstract
The primary goal of this study is to produce reliable estimates of the prevalence of labor trafficking victimization among farmworkers in North Carolina. Over 400 migrant farmworkers participated in interviews. The results reveal that about one-quarter of the sample experienced some type of employment abuse; nearly 18 percent reported incidents that could rise to the level of labor trafficking, and 22 percent reported lesser forms of labor abuse and exploitation.
