Crimes against children

This FBI program's mission is to—

• decrease the vulnerability of children to sexual exploitation;
• develop a nationwide capacity to provide a rapid, effective, and measured investigative response to crimes against children; and
• enhance the capabilities of state and local law enforcement investigators through programs, investigative assistance, and task force operations.

ICAC helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children. This assistance encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services, and community education.

The mission of the Crimes Against Children Research Center is to combat crimes against children by providing high quality research and statistics to the public, policymakers, law enforcement personnel, and other child welfare practitioners.
