Enhancing Law Enforcement Response to Victims (ELERV)

This OVC-funded strategy introduces law enforcement leaders to the benefits, challenges, methods, and responsibilities for enhancing their response to victims of crime. Implementing the ELERV Strategy can lead to broader community-wide trust and confidence in the police, foster the healing process for victims, increase victim participation, and produce stronger, more comprehensive cases to hold offenders accountable.

U.S. Secret Service: Investigations

The Secret Service investigates 21st century’s financial crimes, which are increasingly conducted through cyberspace. These investigations address counterfeit, credit card fraud, wire and bank fraud, computer network breaches, ransomware, and other cyber-enabled financial crimes.

U.S. Department of the Treasury: Financial Crimes Enforcement Network

Through cooperation and partnerships, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network safeguards the financial system from illicit activity, counters money laundering and the financing of terrorism, and promotes national security through strategic use of financial authorities and the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial intelligence.

Fraud.org provides advice about telephone or email solicitations and report possible telemarketing or Internet fraud to law enforcement agencies.

Internet Crime Complaint Center

The Internet Crime Complaint Center allows users to file complaints online concerning suspected cyber-facilitated criminal activity. Its website also offers statistics, scam alerts, and fraud prevention tips. The Federal Bureau of Investigation operates the program.
