Training and technical assistance

The National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster coordinates planning efforts by volunteer organizations responding to disaster. It provides training, leadership development, published resources, case studies, and performance critiques to participating groups.

This organization provides the ongoing emotional support needed to help parents and other survivors facilitate the reconstruction of a "new life" and to promote healthy grief resolution.

The National Organization for Victim Advocacy advocates for dignity and compassion for those harmed by crime. Among the services they provide are skill-based and survivor-centered training to victim advocates and crisis responders.

The National Crime Victim Bar Association educates attorneys, victim service providers, and the general public about civil legal remedies for crime victims. The National Crime Victim Bar Association also provides referrals for crime victims to civil attorneys in their local area.

The National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards shares information and ideas through its network of victim compensation programs. Training and technical assistance activities and other resources focus on fiscal stability, outreach, communication, and advocacy.

The National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention promotes, supports, and enhances fetal and infant mortality review and child death review methodology and activities to local, state, and national audiences.

This association helps set the agenda and determine the direction of state mental health agency interests across the country, historically including state mental health planning, service delivery, and evaluation.

The National Adult Protective Services Association provides state Adult Protective Services program administrators and staff with a forum for sharing information, solving problems, and improving the quality of services for victims of elder and vulnerable adult abuse.

SAPRO is responsible for oversight of the U.S. Department of Defense's sexual assault policy. SAPRO works hand-in-hand with the military and civilian communities to develop and implement innovative prevention and response programs. This office provides services to victims of crime, including specialized services to victims of sexual assault.

The mission of this network is to eliminate violence through advancing nursing education, practice, research, and public policy.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence provides technical assistance, training, and specialized materials and projects designed to enhance domestic violence intervention and prevention strategies.

The Battered Women's Justice Project offers training, technical assistance, and consultation on the most promising practices of the criminal and civil justice systems in addressing domestic violence.
