Historically, peer support programs have focused on mental health, substance use, and occupational challenges. At their core, these programs create meaningful connections between individuals who have experienced adversity and those currently facing it.
The victim services field is now ripe for innovation through the peer support model. In many ways, this has already been happening informally for years—particularly within underserved and marginalized communities. Survivors of crime often choose to work or volunteer in the field to support others walking similar paths.
This webinar explores how peer support is evolving within victim services—and how structured programs are building on grassroots practices to meet the needs of today’s survivors.
