The first step to addressing a problem is identifying it. Many services providers have been unknowingly working with people impacted by brain injury since the beginning of their careers. Yet both professionals and people seeking services are largely unaware that brain injury could be impacting their lives.

This webinar will discuss brain functions and how the brain works, as well as different causes of brain injuries, with a focus on violence. Learn about the signs and symptoms of brain injury and how it shows up in survivor’s daily lives including physical, emotional, and cognitive consequences, as well as a significant impact on a survivor’s physical and mental health. We will also discuss the overlap between symptoms of psychological trauma and neurological trauma, and address the importance of awareness, education, and identification of potential brain injuries.
